Jacob 6:11-12

11 O then, my beloved brethren, repent ye, and enter in at the strait gate, and continue in the way which is narrow, until ye shall obtain eternal life.

12 O be wise; what can I say more?

What can he say more? Be wise is such a good advice. My father told me to always look twice where Ii step so I don't step in some dog crap. I know it's funny but I can relate this saying of my father to this scripture. Jacob says pretty much the same thing, be wise so you can enter at the strait gate. To enter through it one has to always do more and more better himself/herself every day and always seek for truth. Paul has a great recommendation for this. It is found in Phil 4:8

Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

Amen

Hi Cristian. This is a nice insight. I have never heard this saying from your father, but I like it. Jacob is very right. If we used wisdom in all choices and actions, the world would be a much more beautiful place. I also liked that you have tied it to the scripture to seek for true, honest, good things in our lives. If the focus is on seeking the good always, then decisions are always at least facing the right direction, towards God. This goes along with what President Monson said today at the regional conference (in quoting Steven L. Richard): “Faith and doubt cannot exist at the same time in the same mind. One will dispell the other.” I like this alot. It has been on my mind today, wanting to have the faith to cast out any doubt, and to believe what is right unwaveringly.
Keep writing in this blog. I like it :) . Love and kisses, –Heidi
